My mother always wanted to visit Chantilly with me. There was a lot she wanted to do, yet life took another route. So now visiting something like the Chateau de Chantilly is somewhat double. There is something very appealing about Cowboys and Indians. I was going to write romantic, but I feel that is very much the wrong word. Romantic is lacy and thrilly. And this is nature, rough and tough. It is fascinating and the art and lifestyle that go with it are simply beautiful.

We have one of the best horse photographers in the world, Arnd Bronkhorst represents the Dutch and we are proud of that. He has taken it horse photography to a next level. Pictures from different angles, new ways of looking at the horse and at the sport. Then there is Tim Flach and the master himself Robert Vavra, both also know how to capture the essence and beauty of horses, yet they are not Dutch. In Holland we have a nice upcoming photographer, not yet of the level these masters above have reached, but he takes interesting photographs. Read more
Horses are beautiful creatures. They are truly very majestic. Some photographers can capture the many different sides of horses: the athlete, the companion, the beauty, the fierceness, the separate elements. It is an art to take a good picture of a horse. If taken from the wrong angle, your horse will have an enormous head. Or your normally very active, feisty horse resembles an old-timer in the picture. Read more
Owning a fabulous painting by Marli Hommel, that is high up on my wishlist. She makes the most beautiful paintings. I love her use of color and the way she draws horses.
